Survey 101
This class will cover the basics of surveying in the construction world. We will start with a brief history of the progression of surveying and its instruments. There will be a quick review of basic geometry so that we can further understand the world of angles, measurements, and elevations. Attendees will be given the chance to apply these concepts to their specific applications, whether it is caisson layout, curb and gutter stake out, or a simple house foundation. This will help you understand the importance of checking your work and the instrument itself. To finalize the session, we will cover the world of data collectors and total stations, and how to speed up your layout with combined tools.
